Directions for IRC Currieteam Chat room
FIRST THINGS FIRST, PRINT THIS OUT AS IT WILL BE
MUCH EASIER TO DO THIS FROM A PRINT OUT THAN MULTI-
TASKING BACK AND FORTH FOR DIRECTIONS.
First click here http://mirc.com. and download the
program. You will see "Download mIRC" top left corner
Save it to your desktop. Once downloaded, double
click on the icon to install mIRC. Follow the
directions.
Once the program is installed, double click on the
program icon. Now, two windows will open, the one
in front is "about mIRC", just click the X in the
upper right corner to remove the window.
The next window is the mIRC options window. On the
left you will see a "category" list, leave it alone,
do you see IRC Servers? make sure it says "all" in
the dropdown box. Yhe next dropdown box right
underneith it should read "DALnet: US, NJ, Liberty"
scroll down until you find it and highlight it.
Now where it says "full name" do it, and e-mail
address, same thing, and finally your username.
The best choice here is your first name and first
letter of your last name (no spaces).
Now you will click the "connect to IRC server".
You will have to type in #currieteam into the
empty field at the top of the new window.
Now click join.
WELCOME, You are now in the room.
If you get disconnected:
1. Go to the "Servers" folder in the mIRC Software.
(Up top, the very top, it is the second icon from
the left)
2. Choose ANY DALnet server and logon again.
3. Go to the channels folder (Up top, 3rd from left
next to the "Servers" folder)
4. Type in #Currieteam and JOIN
( For future reference:
it is easy to ADD #Currieteam to the list of channels
in the Channels Folder. Click on ADD instead of JOIN.
By doing this, it will be easy to simply go to the
#Currieteam room in the channels folder and double
click right into the room.)
